Specialist Artisan – Fitter & Turner (Lyttelton Campus)

About the role

The Specialist Artisan – Fitter & Turner will produce precision components for the Lyttelton Campus, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality manufacturing. The role involves setting up, maintaining and calibrating machinery while adhering to strict safety, health and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture quality components to production standards and specified tolerances.
• Set up machines, tooling, feeds and speeds for production runs.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and maintain accurate production records.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, calibration of measuring instruments and equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts within licensed limits.
• Mentor junior team members and promote teamwork.

Required profile

• Qualified Artisan with Trade Test – Fitter and Turner, NC Machinist or Setter.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a qualified Artisan, with at least 2 years in a senior or leader capacity.
• Proven experience in manufacturing and production environments.
• Strong knowledge of material properties and heat‑treatment processes.
