Specialist Accountant – Group Financial Reporting

About the role

Sanlam is seeking a Specialist Accountant to lead group financial reporting across its diversified financial services operations. The role involves analysing financial information, preparing statutory and management reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes for the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Sanlam Group budgeting process and coordinate interim and annual management information reporting.
• Prepare and consolidate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other IFRS‑compliant financial statements for Sanlam Limited, Sanlam Life Insurance, and other subsidiaries.
• Perform IFRS to Management Information reconciliations and manage SAP journal processing.
• Maintain trial balance controls, reconcile accounts, and oversee audit processes for subsidiary financial statements.
• Apply IFRS standards (IFRS 9, IFRS 13, IFRS 17, IAS 28) in the preparation of financial reports.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA (SA)) with a minimum of 4‑5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and handle complex financial analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality‑oriented mindset.
