Sourcing Specialist – Fashion, Beauty & Home

About the role

Join Woolworths as a Sourcing Specialist based in Cape Town, supporting the Fashion, Beauty and Home division. You will shape supplier strategy, manage performance and lead cost negotiations to meet financial KPIs while ensuring on‑time, full deliveries throughout each season.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives for Fashion, Beauty and Home categories.
• Manage supplier performance using scorecards that track quality, delivery, innovation and sustainability metrics.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and achieve cost‑saving targets.
• Coordinate capacity planning and order management to guarantee on‑time, full deliveries.
• Conduct supplier onboarding, performance reviews and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Planning, Buying and Design teams to align product strategies and supply‑chain logistics.
• Oversee product costing in partnership with Technical Product Development.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in buying, sourcing or technical retail within the clothing industry.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Textiles, Fashion, Clothing Product Management or a related field.
• Strong negotiation track record and proven cost‑management success.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international and South African clothing markets and supply‑chain logistics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, contracts and capacity planning.
• Excellent commercial acumen, project‑management experience and multi‑season planning capability.
• Data‑driven decision‑making with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Effective cross‑functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Customer‑centric mindset, results orientation and sound judgment.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally as required.
