Software Test Engineer (Embedded / Firmware)

About the role

This position is focused on ensuring the quality of embedded and firmware software through both manual and automated testing. The successful candidate will work closely with development teams to identify defects early and drive continuous improvement in testing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute manual and automated test cases for embedded and firmware products.
• Debug software and firmware against specifications and document findings.
• Collaborate with developers throughout the software development life‑cycle to surface defects early.
• Analyse test results, produce clear reports and track software quality metrics.
• Support the evolution of testing frameworks and automation tools.

Required profile

• BEng or BTech in Electronics or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in software testing, preferably with embedded or firmware systems.
• Strong understanding of QA principles, testing methodologies and development lifecycles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and able to manage multiple testing activities simultaneously.
