Software Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Software Development Manager who will provide strategic technical direction, manage multiple teams, and ensure our technology platforms are resilient, scalable and secure. The role partners with the product head, providing end‑to‑end technical leadership, building high‑performing teams, and driving product and platform architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end technical leadership across product/platform delivery, system health, engineering standards, support and maintenance.
• Build and lead high‑performing software teams, create conditions for predictable delivery and drive continuous improvement.
• Set standards for code deployment across pipelines, ensure system reliability and promote modern engineering and platform practices.
• Work closely with architects to shape solutions and guide implementation decisions.
• Oversee IT governance across teams and drive technology modernisation through cloud computing, AWS, event‑driven architecture, automation and platform engineering.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the business.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead, develop and grow multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong delivery management skills – set the pace and remove blockers.
• Experience driving reskilling and team transformation.
• Confident stakeholder management across technical and business audiences.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with 3–5 years in engineering leadership or technical management.
• Experience delivering cloud‑native solutions (preferably AWS) and working with event‑driven architecture.
• Demonstrated experience improving engineering maturity through DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code and platform practices.
