Software Development Engineer – AWS Kumo Health Experience

About the role

Amazon’s Kumo team builds AI‑driven support solutions that help Amazon employees resolve IT issues quickly. As a Software Development Engineer you will work on end‑to‑end services that power the Kumo Health Experience, delivering automated troubleshooting, personalized content, and chatbot interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a service‑oriented architecture that integrates with many Amazon systems.
• Implement features using Kotlin, Java, and JavaScript on platforms such as React, Node.js, and Elastic Search.
• Leverage a wide range of AWS services including Route 53, Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, AppSync, KMS, Connect, Lex, Kendra, Redshift, QuickSight, and DynamoDB.
• Write high‑quality, testable code and participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and operational monitoring.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience with a focus on design, testing, version control, and deployment.
• Strong understanding of web UI technologies (HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, AJAX, REST, SOA, responsive design) and ability to define and consume APIs.
• Problem‑solving mindset: identify root causes, build scalable solutions, and apply appropriate data structures and algorithms.
