Software Development Engineer – 2026

About the role

Amazon is looking for passionate Software Development Engineers to build scalable, customer‑focused services. As an SDE‑I you will own the full lifecycle of your code, from design through deployment and ongoing operations, impacting millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to design, build and operate innovative products and services.
• Develop cloud‑native, micro‑service based solutions in a large distributed computing environment.
• Participate in code reviews, write clean, maintainable code and produce technical documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient, fault‑tolerant, cost‑effective distributed systems.
• Leverage GenAI and AI‑powered tools to improve development productivity.
• Practice CI/CD, handle on‑call duties and ensure operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting and production issue resolution.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within 24 months) from a Bachelor’s or higher program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or related STEM fields.
• Expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2026 for students.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one general‑purpose programming language.
