Software Developer – Real-time Financial Pricing Platform

About the role

Tradition is looking for a Software Developer to join its Johannesburg team and help build a real-time financial derivative pricing platform. You will work alongside experienced engineers to translate complex pricing models into high-performance software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain components across the full application stack of the pricing platform.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and subject-matter experts to gather requirements and deliver features.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following Agile practices.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies and technical discussions.
• Support monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of the applications.
• Leverage modern development tools, including AI-assisted engineering utilities, to boost productivity.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one language such as Go, C++, Rust, Java, Python or C#.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, testing and version control.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), databases, APIs and modern development tools.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and container technologies like Docker.
• Interest in distributed systems, data processing and high-performance applications.
