Site Supervisor

About the role

Henry Fagan Consulting Engineers & Project Managers is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead contract supervision and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on construction sites in Johannesburg. You will act as the primary point of contact for contractors, visitors and internal project teams, driving daily site performance and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor site contracts, ensuring adherence to the latest company policies and procedures.
• Ensure all personnel and activities comply with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards, conducting risk assessments for high‑risk plant operations.
• Track and report contractor working hours, manpower, overtime and visitor access to meet project specifications.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices across the site.
• Communicate daily plans, method statements and progress updates to the Site Manager, Project Manager, SHEQ Manager and senior advisors.
• Complete daily SHE checklists, incident reports and maintain all required documentation.
• Inspect work against specifications, re‑measure where necessary and report on quality, time and cost performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising construction sites and managing contractor performance.
• Strong understanding of contract documents, drawings, schedules and method statements.
• Ability to plan daily tasks, monitor progress and produce accurate daily reports.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with multiple project stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations and risk assessment procedures.
• Familiarity with contract administration and construction documentation.
