Site Manager – Plant Hire & Equipment

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead plant hire and equipment operations for a forestry client in the Eastern Cape. The role involves overseeing daily site activities, ensuring safety, and driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations, resource planning and equipment utilisation.
• Maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with key clients, addressing service needs and fostering long‑term partnerships.
• Lead, coach and evaluate site personnel, handling HR and performance management.
• Prepare and control budgets, monitor financial performance and implement cost‑control measures.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in site management or a related field.
• Proven leadership, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Experience in financial management and budgeting.
• Preferably experience within the forestry industry.

Required skills

• Familiarity with programming languages C and R (advantageous).
