Site Civil Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

This position is a site‑based civil engineering role within TotalEnergies Renewable Energy projects in the Sutherland and Matjiesfontein area. You will support the Construction Manager and Project Director by supervising civil works for solar PV and wind installations, ensuring technical and contractual compliance throughout construction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support to the Construction Manager and Project Director and supervise all civil engineering activities on‑site.
• Ensure technical compliance with project documents, employer specifications and contractual schedules.
• Monitor civil construction progress against the project schedule and manage costs within your sphere of influence.
• Liaise with balance‑of‑plant contractors, subcontractors and design consultants.
• Prepare management presentations and periodic progress reports.
• Identify optimal technical and execution solutions during the construction phase of solar PV, wind and interconnection works.
• Perform any other duties required within the scope of the position.

Required profile

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; renewable‑energy experience is a plus.
• Strong awareness of civil balance‑of‑plant requirements for solar PV and wind projects.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage project costs.
