Site Agent – Construction Management

About the role

The Site Agent will be based on‑site in Cape Town, overseeing daily construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget. This full‑time position requires close coordination with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all site activities, staff and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and drive progress against the construction programme.
• Enforce health & safety compliance and promote a safe working environment.
• Control material usage, deliveries and site resources.
• Manage quality control, inspections and defect close‑out.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve site issues to maintain productivity.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5–10 years of construction experience with site‑management exposure.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
• Familiarity with JBCC contracts and OHS requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
