Short-term Insurance Broker

About the role

We are looking for a vibrant, dynamic Short‑term Insurance Broker to join our boutique financial services firm in Gqeberha. The role offers high visibility, autonomy over a personal and commercial client portfolio, and the chance to deliver tailored risk‑mitigation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage personal and commercial short‑term insurance policies, acting as the primary contact for clients.
• Source, analyse and prepare competitive quotations that meet client needs.
• Process new policies, renewals, endorsements and mid‑term amendments accurately.
• Facilitate claims handling, liaising between clients and underwriters to ensure swift resolution.
• Proactively review policies to optimise coverage and maintain high client‑retention rates.
• Ensure all advice and documentation comply with FSCA regulations and internal quality standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• 1‑3 years proven experience in South African short‑term insurance brokerage.
• Passed RE5 regulatory examination.
• FETC in Short‑term Insurance (NQF Level 4) or Higher Certificate in Insurance (NQF Level 5).
• Clear DOFA status with the FSCA.
• Vibrant, energetic personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Experience with standard insurance brokerage software.
