Shift Technician – Manufacturing & Packaging

About the role
The Shift Technician ensures that bottling and packaging equipment runs smoothly on a high‑speed production line. Working in shifts, you will maintain safety, food‑quality standards and equipment performance to meet production targets.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and service packaging machinery in line with safety and food‑safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance (OTIF) and respond quickly to breakdowns.
- Support calibration of process measurement equipment and periodic checks.
- Participate in 5S, housekeeping and continuous‑improvement activities.
- Capture performance data, analyse it and implement corrective actions.
Required profile
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Trade Test Certificate (Millwright and/or Mechanical/Electrical).
- Proven experience with bottling and packaging machinery.
- Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
- Willingness to work shift patterns and respond to breakdowns promptly.
Required skills
- Fault‑finding and troubleshooting on production equipment
- Basic machining (drilling, cutting, welding, lathe)
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge
- Reading technical drawings, schematics and manuals
- Hands‑on experience with conveyors, fillers, cappers, labellers
- Understanding of alignment, bearings, gearboxes and drive systems
- Knowledge of PLCs, Servo drives, AC drives
- Food safety standards (GMP/HACCP)
