Shift Technician

About the role

The Shift Technician will join Heineken's production plant to ensure reliable operation of electrical and automation equipment. Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will support continuous manufacturing by maintaining and troubleshooting a range of machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret wiring diagrams and electrical drawings in a plant environment.
• Perform methodical fault finding and maintenance on motors, pumps, control panels and distribution boards.
• Maintain sensor control systems, VSDs, HMIs, switchgear, AC motors, relay logic, temperature controllers and industrial instrumentation.
• Carry out basic PLC input/output checks and repairs on production machinery.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, OHS regulations and maintain excellent housekeeping.
• Participate in mini‑business operating activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric and a Trade Certificate as an Electrician.
• 3‑5 years of experience in an FMCG electrical/automation environment, preferably with bottling machinery.
• Familiarity with Siemens S7 PLCs and high‑speed machinery.
• Self‑motivated, able to work with limited supervision and under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, punctuality and alignment with Heineken values.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
