Shift Supervisor – Mining Production

About the role

The Shift Supervisor will lead an underground mining crew to achieve daily production targets safely and efficiently. Reporting to senior management, the role combines operational planning, resource coordination, and strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control shift activities to meet production goals while complying with legislative and company safety requirements.
• Lead, motivate and discipline mining personnel, ensuring proper training and performance monitoring.
• Manage physical and financial resources allocated to the shift, including equipment, support materials and budget control.
• Maintain accurate administrative records, reports and documentation required for the position.
• Communicate policies, procedures and safety issues effectively within the department.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
• Blasting Certificate and Competent A & B qualifications.
• 3‑5 years experience as a Production Shift Supervisor (external) or at least 5 years as a Production Miner with a clean record (internal).
• Valid Shift Supervisor certificate and medical fitness.
• Basic computer literacy.
