Shift Quality Technician (Epping)

About the role

The Shift Quality Technician works closely with production team leaders to ensure that all quality procedures are followed and that products meet internal standards. This shift‑based role is based in Epping and involves both shop‑floor and laboratory activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, healthy, risk‑free work environment by adhering to SHE standards, conducting pre‑task safety checks and implementing 5S.
• Support Manufacturing Excellence by following standardized work, performing autonomous maintenance, and ensuring proper shift handover.
• Conduct verification checks, inspections and quarantine of non‑conforming raw materials, packaging and finished goods to meet food‑safety requirements.
• Own and report Level 1 quality parameters accurately and on time.
• Coach and train production staff on quality procedures and conduct assessments for QC analysis.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, provide first‑level problem solving for lab instruments used in quality‑at‑source analysis.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent; Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Analytical or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
• Shift‑based availability and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards with excellent documentation skills.
