Shift Manager – Cold Store & Logistics

About the role

The Shift Manager will support the Cold Store, Logistics and Dispatch department at our Mahikeng Processing Plant. Working on a rotating shift, the manager ensures smooth operations, maintains safety standards and motivates the team to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the cold store, logistics and dispatch functions during the assigned shift, ensuring all processes run on schedule.
• Monitor and enforce safety procedures and standard operating procedures, conducting regular checks and corrective actions when needed.
• Coordinate staff schedules, allocate tasks and ensure adequate coverage to meet workload demands.
• Track performance metrics, identify bottlenecks and propose efficiency improvements.
• Communicate shift updates to senior management and hand over critical information to the next shift.
• Ensure accurate documentation of inventory movements and dispatch records.
• Maintain equipment functionality and report any maintenance needs promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing shift operations within a logistics, warehousing or cold‑storage environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and SOP compliance.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Good organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with cold‑store temperature control systems is advantageous.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and coordination.
