About the role
EXXARO MATLA COAL MINE is urgently hiring permanent staff for its operations in Ogies, Mpumalanga. The SHE Representative/Safety Officer will ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce SHE policies and regulatory requirements on site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks to staff.
- Investigate incidents, near‑misses and recommend corrective actions.
Required profile
- Grade 10/12 education.
- Fluent in English – able to read, write and speak.
- Pass a pre‑employment medical examination; physical fitness assessment may be required.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools is an advantage.
Required skills
- Use of basic hand and power tools.
- Awareness of occupational health and safety regulations.
