Service Workshop Manager

About the role

The Service Workshop Manager will lead an established automotive service workshop, ensuring all vehicles are serviced and repaired to manufacturer standards. The role combines technical expertise, people leadership, customer service and financial management to drive operational excellence and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily workshop activities to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Ensure all vehicles are serviced, maintained and repaired correctly according to manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor workshop productivity, labour sales and profitability, and drive achievement of CSI targets.
• Lead, motivate and manage technicians, apprentices, service advisors and support staff.
• Allocate work, track technician productivity and provide technical guidance.
• Maintain quality, safety and procedural standards throughout the workshop.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints and service‑related queries professionally.
• Manage warranty claims and ensure compliance with warranty procedures.
• Control workshop resources, equipment, tooling and costs, identifying efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and utilise workshop management systems effectively.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing an automotive service workshop or similar environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle servicing and repair processes.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to handle service‑related issues.
• Solid understanding of financial metrics, labour sales and profitability drivers.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards and compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
