Service Technical Support / Service Technician – Cape Town

About the role

The Technical Service Support Specialist provides hands‑on technical assistance to service providers and dealership technicians across the commercial‑vehicle network in Cape Town. You will ensure OEM service standards are met, support complex field repairs, and help drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance, fault diagnosis and repair procedures to service providers and dealership technicians.
• Assist in delivering technical training sessions, preparing materials and evaluating competency.
• Collect, verify and review monthly warranty and service claim data, communicating settlements and addressing queries.
• Gather and report product quality feedback, supporting corrective‑action follow‑up.
• Offer on‑site technical assistance for complex repairs, ensuring safety and OEM repair standards.
• Document fault cases and contribute to service performance analysis.

Required profile

• Automotive engineering or related technical qualification (automotive technician certificate or diesel mechanic trade test advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 8; Code 14 advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years experience in truck or commercial‑vehicle maintenance, servicing or diagnostics.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, chassis and power‑train knowledge with hands‑on fault‑finding ability.
• Customer‑focused mindset and ability to communicate clearly with technicians, drivers and internal teams.
