Service Advisor – automotive motor industry

About the role

The Service Advisor will act as the primary liaison between customers and the workshop in an automotive dealership. The role involves managing repair orders, coordinating parts and technicians, and ensuring high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm customer requirements, repair scope, timing and mobility needs against workshop capacity and parts availability.
• Validate repair requirements through diagnosis, vehicle inspection and test drives where required.
• Create complete job orders on the DMS using the latest technical, repair and parts information.
• Coordinate parts, technicians, tools and equipment to support agreed completion dates.
• Obtain customer approval for supplementary work and communicate repair progress or delays.
• Verify repair quality through final checks and test drives and initiate corrective work when needed.
• Handle complaints professionally and ensure priority follow‑up through to completion.
• Conduct vehicle safety and roadworthiness assessments during repairs.

Required profile

• National Diploma in a relevant engineering field, marketing, aftersales or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum three years of aftersales experience in a dealership environment.
• Completion of an internationally certified Service Advisor programme.
• Strong automotive product knowledge and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience using automotive software packages (e.g., DMS, warranty management tools).
