Senior Technician – Instrumentation & Electrical

About the role

Sasol is seeking a Senior Technician to provide technical support for electronic instrumentation and process control. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment, ensuring data collection, processing and reporting meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all electrical and instrumentation assets according to planned schedules.
• Calibrate applicable equipment and keep calibration records up to date.
• Update and manage electrical drawings and documentation.
• Gather information, accumulate data and produce basic processing reports.
• Apply safety procedures in all project planning and execution activities.
• Plan and deliver own work to meet quality, quantity and deadline targets.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers, sharing key information and ideas.
• Suggest improvements to equipment, systems and processes.

Required profile

• National Diploma with 7 years relevant experience or B.Tech with 6 years relevant experience for a Senior Technician position.
• Clear understanding of electrical and instrument drawings.
• Experience in installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation/electrical equipment.
• Proven ability to calibrate equipment and interpret calibration data.
• Knowledge of switchgear, transformers and automation systems (PLC – Siemens, Allen Bradley, Wago).
