Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Kirby is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, coordinating, and delivering structural engineering solutions that integrate seamlessly with MEP systems on complex, innovative construction projects across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review structural designs, calculations, and engineering solutions.
• Support pre‑construction activities, including design reviews and technical assessments.
• Perform structural analysis to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and building regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering, digital construction, operations, and external stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Produce and review technical documentation, reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Participate in design risk assessments and quality assurance processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to graduate and junior engineers.
• Assist in driving continuous improvement and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in structural design within construction, engineering, or building services environments.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design standards, and building regulations.
• Experience using structural design and analysis software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
