Senior Stock Controllers

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Stock Controller to join the pharmacy team at Life Brenthurst Hospital in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will oversee the efficient management of surgical and pharmaceutical inventories, ensuring compliance with quality, financial and legislative standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage surgical stores, billing processes, distribution and pharmaceutical procurement.
• Ensure accurate receipt, receipting and documentation of surgical stock.
• Participate in cost‑of‑sales management of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget targets.
• Maintain the Life Healthcare Centre formulary and support stock‑takes, cycle counts and management of dead‑stock and short‑dated items.
• Generate and analyse reports such as negative stock and outstanding orders, and resolve stakeholder queries.
• Foster strong relationships with doctors, clinical staff and internal teams to support optimal system utilisation.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• At least 5 years of experience in stock management, preferably within private healthcare.
• Demonstrated people‑management and basic financial skills.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work accurately under pressure and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer systems and exposure to SAP.
