Senior SAP CAR / POS DM Consultant

About the role

The Senior SAP CAR / POS DM Consultant will lead functional support and optimisation of the SAP Customer Activity Repository and point‑of‑sale data management environment. You will ensure high‑volume POS transaction data is processed accurately and on time, supporting finance, inventory, reporting and retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional support, configuration and issue resolution for SAP CAR and POS DM/POSDTA.
• Analyse POS transaction flows, identify failures, gaps, duplicate or incorrect data, and drive corrective actions.
• Support end‑to‑end sales audit, transaction validation, exception handling and downstream integration.
• Collaborate with retail operations, finance, integration teams, SAP Retail consultants and BI developers.
• Investigate complex data issues across articles, pricing, promotions, tenders, taxes, loyalty and inventory.
• Define and document functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces and reports.
• Guide testing of diverse POS scenarios, including sales, refunds, voids, discounts and end‑of‑day processing.
• Deliver senior‑level troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for inconsistent transaction processing.

Required profile

• Strong experience with SAP CAR and POS DM/POSDTA in a high‑volume retail environment.
• Deep understanding of POS inbound processing, sales audit and reconciliation.
• Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and technical teams to resolve complex transactional issues.
• Experience with SAP Retail or S/4HANA Retail integration.
