Senior Sales Manager – New & Existing Business

About the role

Mimecast is seeking a senior sales leader to head its field‑based New & Existing Business sales function across South Africa. The role combines new customer acquisition with growth of existing accounts through expansion, cross‑sell and upsell initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all sales activities for both new logo acquisition and existing account growth within the territory.
• Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention and account expansion.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the sales team while aligning with the company’s strategic goals.
• Set performance targets, monitor results and continuously improve sales processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Attract, retain, train and motivate a diverse sales force to meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
• Implement end‑to‑end sales methodology and ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of sales leadership experience in IT, preferably within cybersecurity, SaaS or email security.
• Proven track record leading direct and indirect sales teams for new business and account growth.
• Experience selling to both commercial and public‑sector clients.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and risk‑management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop talent and collaborate across multiple functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a results‑driven mindset.
