Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civil Structures

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading South African civil contractor on a four‑year, R7.5 billion water‑treatment plant project in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal. The role is permanent and will involve overseeing the commercial and cost‑control aspects of a large‑scale civil infrastructure programme.

Key responsibilities

• Manage variations, claims, valuations, forecasting and final accounts for the project.
• Control costs, budgets and commercial risk across all civil structures.
• Administer contracts and supervise subcontractor performance and payments.
• Provide accurate cost reporting and support decision‑making for multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive senior quantity surveying experience within a large civil contracting environment.
• Proven work on civil structures, preferably water‑treatment or similar infrastructure projects valued at R500 million +.
• Strong commercial, contractual and cost‑control capabilities.
• Ability to operate on complex, high‑value, multidisciplinary projects.
• Based in Durban or willing to relocate to KwaZulu‑Natal.
