Senior Project Manager – IT & Change Management

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple technical IT projects for Discovery Insure, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. This role combines project delivery, change management and stakeholder coordination across the insurance and technology domains.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate scoping and planning workshops and maintain detailed Scope of Work and project plans.
• Deliver project outcomes within agreed time, cost and quality parameters while meeting milestones.
• Manage issue resolution, project risks, scope changes and quality of outputs.
• Coordinate meetings, compile status reports and mentor project team members.
• Adhere to established project‑management standards and engage the wider network to remove impediments.
• Drive change across multiple projects, collaborate with partners and business units, and oversee budgets and benefits realization.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of insurance products, processes and competitive advantages.
• Solid knowledge of IT processes, methodologies and change‑management practices.
• Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics plus a Project Management qualification.
• 2‑4 years of project‑management experience, including 1‑3 years delivering IT projects and 1‑2 years leading change initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously and lead virtual teams.

Required skills

• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Proficiency in Design Thinking.
• Use of AI tools for project management.
