Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure

About the role

Amatola Water is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects from concept to delivery at its Head Office in East London. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the Infrastructure Development Plan and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a project management framework and governance structure.
• Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and produce regular reports for senior management and the Department of Water and Sanitation.
• Coordinate GIS inputs for feasibility studies and ensure construction adheres to project goals.
• Manage professional service providers, contracts, and supply‑chain processes.
• Establish quality control and project control mechanisms throughout implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7) and registration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Professional registration as a CPM or PMP is an advantage.
• Minimum five years of experience in the infrastructure sector, including at least three years in project management.
• Experience in water‑related infrastructure projects is preferred.
