Senior Project Manager – Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager on a contract basis to lead a Fraud Risk initiative. The role is based in Cape Town and reports to the Programme and Project Manager competency lead within BCE.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of projects in the MFC Risk & Compliance area, ensuring scope, quality, time and cost targets are met.
• Maintain and update Business Case ROI, forecast benefits and align epic delivery with company OKRs.
• Guide cross‑functional teams, fostering collaboration and keeping focus on outcomes.
• Engage stakeholders, communicate progress and manage expectations.
• Oversee project budgets, perform accurate forecasting and track expenses.
• Identify risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies and ensure successful delivery.
• Implement quality assurance measures and produce high‑quality reports, documentation and presentations.
• Manage dependencies between projects, drive continuous improvement and ensure sufficient capacity for epic delivery.
• Coordinate vendor activities as required.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in project management, preferably within financial services or risk compliance.
• Strong ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated competence in budget, risk and benefit management.
• Results‑oriented with a disciplined, energetic approach.
