Senior Project Manager – Change Management

About the role

Apex Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Change Management function in Cape Town. Reporting to a Program Manager or Portfolio Lead, you will drive technology and business change projects from initiation through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assigned projects on time, within scope and budget.
• Build and maintain comprehensive project plans, including milestones, dependencies, risks and actions.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day delivery across technology, operations and business teams.
• Track and report progress, risks and issues transparently.
• Escalate concerns early and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with Programme Managers and other Project Managers to manage cross‑project dependencies.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops and working sessions.
• Apply appropriate delivery approaches (waterfall, agile or hybrid) based on pragmatism.
• Ensure documentation supports delivery without unnecessary overhead.
• Share lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering projects in technology and/or business change environments.
• Strong grasp of core project management disciplines (planning, risk, issue and dependency management).
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stay organised under pressure.
