Senior Professional Nurse - NICU

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Professional Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Sandton. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care to critically ill newborns and supporting the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Infection prevention and control
• Pharmacology management
• Application of scientific nursing principles and processes
• Nursing record keeping and documentation
• Patient assessment and monitoring
• Implementation of nursing processes and procedures
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office
• Developing and modifying nursing care plans
• Ensuring compliance with relevant nursing legislation
• Providing basic life support (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) in specialised wards
• Risk identification and mitigation

Required profile

• Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (preferred)
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (ACLS, ATLS, PALS)
• Strong knowledge of infection control, pharmacology, and nursing legislation
