Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

As impact.com scales to 600 product engineers, the underlying infrastructure becomes mission‑critical. You will be the senior individual contributor responsible for designing, deploying, and operating the platform‑layer infrastructure that powers the entire developer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and operation of VPCs, compute pools, storage, Kubernetes clusters, and networking, translating configuration data into IaC inputs.
• Own monitoring and operation of managed pub/sub systems such as Kafka.
• Design abstractions that let service teams express infrastructure requirements, ensuring security and high availability by default.
• Maintain platform uptime of 99.9% and achieve >95% successful change rate.
• Mentor junior engineers and set technical standards for code review, GitOps, and IaC consumption.

Required profile

• Strong software‑engineering fundamentals with hands‑on Java experience.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and Linux command‑line usage.
• Fluency in cloud networking concepts: VPCs, subnets, load balancing, security, and service‑mesh interaction.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform) and GitOps platforms (Argo CD, Flux or equivalents).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
