Senior Operations Engineer - Java Applications (Retail Sales Services) (Contract)

About the role

Our client is looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to take operational ownership of a high‑availability Java‑based Retail Sales Services platform. The role involves Level 2 support, monitoring, and incident resolution for a global IT hub serving dealerships and sales partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 operational support for the Offering and Contracting platform, ensuring high availability.
• Monitor application health using Grafana dashboards and Loki log queries.
• Investigate and resolve complex production incidents, performing end‑to‑end root‑cause analysis.
• Trace transactions across distributed microservices and REST APIs.
• Validate JSON payloads, manage message reconciliation and retry mechanisms.
• Collaborate with Level 3 engineering squads and business users to implement technical fixes.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of enterprise application support experience, preferably in Java environments.
• Strong ITIL‑based operational discipline and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills for influencing stakeholders and documenting investigations.
