Senior Merchandise Associate – Mr D On‑Demand

About the role

Takealot Group’s Mr D brand is seeking a Senior Merchandise Associate to lead merchandising initiatives for the Mr D On‑Demand vertical. You will shape the product experience, drive app conversion and support the rapid growth of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the merchandising and promotional strategy, creating a robust Merchandising Calendar with clear success metrics.
• Maximise the use of app merchandising inventory to improve partner discoverability, conversion rates and commercial impact.
• Lead the merchandising team, run planning sessions and continuously refine SOPs for efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with Advertising, Product and Business Intelligence teams to execute campaigns, enhance features and develop data‑driven metrics.
• Facilitate cross‑departmental sessions to ensure top‑tier partner curation across the platform.

Required profile

• Strong commercial and analytical mindset with the ability to turn data insights into action.
• High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Effective cross‑functional collaborator with tech, marketing, product and BI teams.
• Awareness of tech trends, competitor activity and local consumer behaviour in the on‑demand space.
• Proactive self‑starter with excellent communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification and 3–5 years experience in e‑commerce, marketplace or retail.
• 1–2 years of team‑leadership experience (highly beneficial).
