Senior Manager – System Development

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a seasoned Senior Manager to lead System Development for its Credit Guarantee Insurance Corporation (CGIC) division. You will shape the technology roadmap, modernise legacy platforms and drive delivery excellence across multiple product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the application development and modernisation strategy, aligning technology roadmaps with business objectives.
• Lead development teams responsible for underwriting, claims, reinsurance, accounting, broker/client portals, and API integration services.
• Establish engineering standards, SDLC governance, agile delivery practices and quality controls.
• Oversee strategic programmes to migrate from legacy Software AG/Natural platforms to cloud‑enabled, API‑first architectures.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team of ~20 technology professionals, handling workforce planning, coaching, performance management and talent acquisition.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in technology leadership within large financial services organisations.
• Proven ability to manage complex delivery programmes, governance and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Strong people‑management skills with a track record of building high‑performing delivery teams.
