Senior Manager Director Positions – Municipal Leadership Roles

About the role

The Metšimaholo Municipality is recruiting senior directors to provide strategic leadership across finance, social services, organisational development and local economic development. Reporting to the Municipal Manager, each director will drive policy implementation, service delivery and sustainable growth within the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic policies and programmes in your functional area.
• Manage budgets, financial controls and performance monitoring.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and community outreach initiatives.
• Oversee human resources, governance and compliance matters.
• Ensure delivery of high‑quality services in line with municipal legislation.

Required profile

• Recognised NQF Level 7 qualification relevant to the functional area (e.g., Accounting, Social Work, HR, Town Planning).
• Minimum five years of relevant senior‑management experience in the public sector.
• Sound knowledge of municipal legislation such as MFMA, MFSA, PFMA and related Acts.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
