About the role

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to provide specialist legal counsel across a broad spectrum of matters. This position supports SABS’s mandate to develop and maintain national standards, promote quality, and deliver conformity assessment services. The role involves offering legal support to various departments, ensuring compliance with the Employment Equity Act and other statutory requirements, and working closely with senior management to align legal strategies with organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Offer legal advice and guidance on commercial issues and corporate transactions.
• Manage regulatory and compliance matters relevant to SABS operations.
• Oversee intellectual property issues and protect SABS’s assets.
• Coordinate and supervise litigation management activities.
