Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 positions)

About the role

The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences is seeking two senior academics to join the Department of Industrial Psychology at its Bloemfontein Campus. The successful candidates will teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management, lead research initiatives, and contribute to the department’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching for Industrial Psychology and HRM courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Conduct and publish research in accredited journals, aligning with the faculty’s research strategy.
• Supervise Honours, Masters, PhD students and professional industrial psychology interns.
• Participate in academic administration, including exam preparation, marking, and handling student enquiries.
• Serve on departmental and university committees and support curriculum development.
• Build collaborative relationships with research bodies, government, industry, and professional organisations.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10) in Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated record of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Evidence of national or international research recognition, including publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Experience presenting papers/posters at national conferences and active participation in scholarly societies.
• For Associate Professor level: external examiner experience, editorial board service, and an NRF rating of C3 or equivalent.
