Senior Lecturer – Accounting (Taxation)

About the role

The Department of Accounting seeks two Senior Lecturers (Grade SL) to strengthen its teaching, research and community engagement activities in taxation. The successful candidates will join a dynamic academic team and contribute to the department’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in taxation on a SAICA‑accredited programme.
• Supervise research projects and postgraduate theses, fostering a growing research profile.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and university governance, including administrative and leadership duties.
• Engage with professional bodies and the wider community to promote knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification.
• Master’s degree in Taxation (or commitment to register for one within 12 months).
• Professional experience in taxation and a demonstrated track record of training or mentorship.
• Experience in teaching taxation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Evidence of administrative, management or informal leadership roles.
