Senior IT Support Engineer

About the role

Running Computers is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join its Managed Service Provider team. You will provide high‑quality technical support to a diverse client base, ensuring systems and services remain reliable and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve user, workstation, Microsoft 365, application, server and infrastructure issues.
• Manage user accounts, devices, and access permissions across Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.
• Monitor and maintain Windows Server environments, including Hyper‑V and Proxmox virtualisation platforms.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and backup solution administration.
• Document technical processes and maintain clear support documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the support team.
• Support physical and virtual server environments, including Linux‑based systems.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and methodical troubleshooting skills across multiple technology areas.
• Ability to own support tickets from identification through resolution.
• Experience managing small to medium‑size technical projects.
• Comfortable assisting and guiding junior team members.
