Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

RS Stanron Chartered Accountants Inc is looking for a qualified Senior Internal Auditor to lead an upcoming public‑sector internal audit engagement. The role involves overseeing audit planning, execution and reporting for complex government‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage end‑to‑end internal audit engagements for public‑sector clients.
• Develop audit plans, assess risks and design assurance procedures.
• Prepare clear, actionable audit reports and present findings to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior audit staff and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Professional designation: CIA, CA(SA) or CISA.
• Honours or postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 8 in Internal Auditing, Accounting or Risk Management.
• Valid membership with IIA SA, SAICA, ISACA or IRMSA.
• Minimum five years of audit experience, including leadership of complex public‑sector engagements.
• Demonstrated senior management experience in audit or assurance.
