Senior HR & Payroll Generalist

About the role

Paradigm Recruitment is seeking a Senior HR & Payroll Generalist to join its team in Midrand, Johannesburg. The role combines expert payroll processing using Sage VIP with broad HR generalist duties, supporting both management and employees across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer payroll for new hires, terminations, transfers, salary changes, overtime, and statutory deductions using Sage VIP.
• Maintain an accurate payroll master file and resolve employee queries promptly.
• Perform monthly payroll reconciliations, including medical aid, provident fund, PAYE, SDL, and general ledger accounts.
• Coordinate payments to statutory bodies, reconcile IRP5 data, and support WCA assessments.
• Provide HR advice, conduct employee engagement surveys, manage inductions, exit interviews, and support employee relations.
• Ensure job profiles are up‑to‑date and signed by relevant staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a payroll and HR generalist, preferably in a South African context.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour and payroll legislation.
• High level of accuracy and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to advise managers and staff.
