Senior, Firefighter & Junior Firefighter Positions – Mopani District Municipality

About the role

Mopani District Municipality is recruiting experienced fire service personnel for multiple positions within its Community Services directorate. The roles include Senior Fire Fighters, Fire Fighters and Junior Fire Fighters to provide fire suppression, rescue and public safety services across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Control and extinguish fires, limiting property damage and protecting lives.
• Conduct rescue operations in floods, vehicle accidents, water, trench and high‑angle scenarios.
• Respond to emergency calls, complete accident forms and manage the control room as scheduled.
• Inspect, maintain and repair firefighting and rescue equipment.
• Deliver public education, awareness campaigns and school demonstrations on fire safety.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a Basic Adult Education (BAE) qualification.
• Valid Code C1 manual transmission driver’s licence.
• Fire Fighter 1 (and Fire Fighter 2 for senior posts) certification.
• 2–6 years of relevant fire service experience, depending on the position.
• Willingness to undergo security, medical and fitness clearances in line with NFPA standards.
