Senior Financial/Marketing Manager – Mining

About the role

This senior position combines finance and marketing expertise within a mining company operating in Cape Town. The role is hands‑on, covering financial management, strategic planning, client engagement and business development in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the divisional finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and oversee budgets, cash‑flow forecasts, financial planning and management accounts.
• Analyse performance and deliver strategic recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Support executive decision‑making with financial insight and commercial analysis.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Drive business development and marketing initiatives to identify new opportunities.
• Develop and implement commercial growth strategies.
• Oversee financial controls, compliance and internal governance.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and key stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor the finance and administrative team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Marketing with cross‑disciplinary experience.
• 8–10 years of senior financial management experience, preferably in the mining sector.
• Strong commercial acumen and business development mindset.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with financial systems.
