Senior Financial Accountant – Remote

About the role

Remote Recruitment is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own financial reporting and controls for a UK‑based business while working remotely from South Africa. You will produce accurate financial statements, lead audit preparation, and support the CFO with ad‑hoc analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP or IFRS.
• Lead the year‑end close and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Support the CFO with ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Required profile

• ACCA, CIMA, or CA(SA) qualification.
• 5+ years of financial accounting experience, preferably in a UK‑facing role.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems such as Xero, NetSuite, or Sage.
• Reliable fibre internet and a professional home workspace.

What we offer

• Salary: R33,000 per month.
• Full‑time, permanent remote position.
• Working hours: 09:00‑17:00 UK time (11:00‑19:00 SAST).
