Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Mobelli is seeking a commercially‑minded Senior Financial Accountant to own financial reporting, stock accuracy, gross profit tracking and financial controls across its retail, e‑commerce, warehouse and hospitality operations. The role demands a detail‑driven, analytical professional who can thrive in a fast‑paced distribution environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, month‑end journals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Maintain strong inventory and stock controls to improve accuracy.
• Analyse gross profit and provide commercial insights for decision‑making.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and ensure compliance with VAT and statutory requirements.
• Partner with Operations and Directors to deliver reliable financial reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements across finance functions.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, BCompt or equivalent qualification.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience with a focus on management accounts and inventory accounting.
• Proven experience in month‑end close, variance analysis and statutory compliance.
• Experience in retail, wholesale, furniture, FMCG or distribution environments is preferred.
• Bonus qualifications: SAIPA, CIMA, AGA(SA) or completed articles.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as Erply, SAP, Sage, Pastel or NetSuite.
• VAT compliance and statutory reconciliation expertise.
• Strong inventory accounting and stock control capabilities.
