Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical engineering function for real‑estate and facilities infrastructure projects. The role involves delivering design, technical specifications and project support across commercial, residential and substation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs, concept layouts and detailed engineering drawings for real‑estate and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications and evaluation criteria for procurement.
• Conduct condition assessments of commercial buildings, residential properties and electrical substations and compile engineering reports.
• Support project execution through procurement evaluation, construction supervision, testing, commissioning and review of Certificates of Compliance.
• Provide technical assistance to facilities maintenance teams and perform site inspections and technical supervision.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant engineering standards and project requirements.

Required profile

• BSc Eng. or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Minimum five years of experience in electrical design, project engineering and facilities maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure and building services.
