Senior Data Technologist

About the role

Responsible for scoping, sourcing, integrating and analysing complex financial, statistical and visual/spatial data to provide high‑quality forensic evidence that supports the Financial Intelligence Centre’s mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business teams to understand project requirements and translate them into data solutions.
• Supervise and perform database programming, including writing scripts, stored procedures and functions for analytical procedures.
• Plan and execute data integration and migration activities to support forensic investigations.
• Conduct quality‑assurance testing to ensure data integrity and resolve database issues promptly.
• Identify and develop new information sources and create management tools to facilitate data gathering.
• Design and implement models to detect anomalies and support financial crime analysis.
• Prepare complex reports and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach junior analysts, reviewing their work and ensuring skill transfer.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in data analysis, database development and forensic investigations.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities to link multiple data relationships and formulate hypotheses.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a data analysis team.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to law‑enforcement and other stakeholders.
